SDCM has had so much going on this past week I have barely had time to sit and reflect on it. So now that I am able to relax let me tell you about the SDCM journey I went on recently.
The weekend started out with a great art show at the Ivy for our SDCM Official Photographer Leetal Elmaleh. The show started at 8pm and I was surprised to see the scope of work she had on display. There were pieces I haven’t seen and pieces I had forgotten about that I was thrilled I had the chance to see again. I found her work so accessible that I actually had to purchase one of her pieces because I suddenly couldn’t imagine my wall without it. The piece is a collage and the aspect I found myself connected to is that each square is representative of a story about a specific day/night and the person(s) in the photo. The artist had a wonderful turn out that proved lucrative. Leetal will be hosting another show at Vin de Syrah in April. Stay tuned for that info … you wont want to miss it!
The next event that SDCM hosted was Cheyenne Giles CD Release Party at Analog on Saturday January 15th. Cheyenne is our official SDCM DJ and he was ready to break out and drop his first CD. He rocks the house every Saturday at Analog and this past Saturday was absolutely through the roof. His CD, “Expression” is a signature album bringing you the best of electro and dub-step (his favorites). The bar was packed and everyone was on the dance floor. If you haven’t heard some of Cheyenne’s stuff check out www.sdcmradio.com and listen to some of his tracks. You can also hear his and some of San Diego’s favorite DJ’s tracks at: www.soundcloud.com/sdcm-radio .
